Q
What is a warrant hearing (구속전 피의자심문)?
A Answer
It is a hearing before a judge who decides whether you will be held in custody while the case continues. The judge considers whether there is reasonable suspicion, whether you have a fixed residence, and whether there is a risk of flight or of destroying evidence. A court interpreter is provided, and your lawyer can attend and argue for your release. The decision usually comes the same day or that night.
