Q
I'm a foreigner and I was the victim of a crime. Can I stay in Korea to see the case through?
A Answer
Victims have the right to file a criminal complaint and to be represented by a lawyer in the process. If your stay is about to expire, contact the immigration office early to ask whether you can remain for the proceedings, and keep proof of your complaint. A lawyer can also handle much of the case on your behalf if you must leave Korea.
