Q
The prosecutor gave me a suspension of indictment (기소유예). Does that affect my visa?
A Answer
A suspension of indictment is not a conviction — the prosecutor has found the facts but decided not to prosecute. It does not trigger the imprisonment-based deportation ground. It remains in investigation records, however, and immigration may still be aware of it. For most foreign nationals, it is one of the better realistic outcomes when the facts are not in dispute.
