Q
The police contacted me about drugs. What should I do first?
A Answer
Stay calm and do not make any statement until you have spoken with a criminal defense lawyer. Do not delete messages, sell your phone, or contact the people involved — in drug cases, any sign of destroying evidence greatly increases the chance of detention. Note the investigator's name, department, and the date you are asked to appear. Then call a lawyer before that date.
