During the earlier police investigation, Lee also retained 10 attorneys from YK Law Firm. YK Law Firm has been gaining prominence at the police investigation stage, having recruited a large number of former police officers, including attorneys with police backgrounds and 31 retired police officials. In fact, some of the attorneys who represented Lee during the police investigation, including Attorney Chon Hyeong Hwan, were confirmed to be former police officers.

Lee was indicted under detention on charges of embezzlement. He is accused of transferring a total of KRW 221.5 billion from the company’s account to a securities account under his own name on 15 occasions between November 2020 and October of the following year, while working as finance team leader at Osstem Implant, and using the funds for personal purposes, including stock investments.
