Prosecutors Move Swiftly in “Tzuyang Blackmail” Investigation… YouTuber Gujeyeok to Face Detention Hearing on July 26

Prosecutors are moving quickly in their investigation into so-called “cyber wreckers,” a term referring to malicious content creators, which are being classified as a new type of crime. Less than ten days after complaints were filed against YouTubers including Gujeyeok, whose real name is Lee Jun-hee, and Jujak Gambyeolsa, whose real name is Jeon Guk-jin, prosecutors swiftly questioned both the complainant and the accused and requested arrest warrants.

Attorney Chon Hyeong Hwan of YK Law Firm predicted that, “Considering the level of public attention surrounding the case, it is unlikely to end with a slap-on-the-wrist punishment.”

In addition to this case, the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office plans to respond sternly to other matters, including the “Sojang” case involving the spread of false information about idols and indiscriminate disclosures related to the Miryang sexual assault case.
